SDR from the web

It would be nice if the app provides connection at the SDR worldwide just to listen to over the internet network. Like at websdr.org

Amazing app! Beautiful

Amazing app for the price! Works great on iPhone 4 and iPad 3, ideal to demonstrate the power of SDR or simply to demonstrate HF radio reception. Comes with 30 seconds of recorded signal in the 40 meter radio band with sample voice and morse code than you can tune to.

Perfext

Now where to buy the antenna & signal amplification?

Wonderful

Even without the external hardware, the app provides an excellent hands-on introduction to the SDR technology via the built-in loop of a chunk of RF spectrum in the 40m amateur band during a busy contest. The app code seems to be essentially perfect. The GUI is perfection. The only part that Ive not figured out is the binaural effect (not what I was expecting, Ill keep playing with it in case Im missing it). Many thanks for a great app.

Network support?

It will be fine to receive the IQ data from the network in OsmoSDR format

Give me back my money

Its only a simulation, a fake!! Give me back my money. Thanks

Needs support for Apple Watch

iSDR 3.0

Great app, used with recordings and was amazed! Waiting on a SoftRock Lite to test it live, but I am sure it will perform great! Thanks for making SDR portable. K7SWF

Great- but

Worked great, and then it just quit working when I installed e new version. Hope it gets fixed, as theres nothing at all like it.

Crashes on initial splash screen on my iPad 3. W8RB

Crashes

Crashes on initial start up splash screen on my iPad 3 also.

What a great App !!!

This is an amazing app that does everything I would expect from an expensive paid app. Certainly the center piece for a great QRP or Field Day go kit.

iSDR

This is an outstanding application. I use it extensively to practice CW copy. Support is quick and personal.

Excellent Program & Support

iSDR is an excellent software defined receiver (SDR) program, both as a demonstrator of the technology and as a live receiver in its own right when used with your own separately provided radio frequency (RF) front end that converts radio signals to digitized I/Q signals. It covers all the major modes (CW, USB, LSB, AM, FM, and Binaural), provides bandwidth settings appropriate to each mode, and allows use with prerecorded spectrum recordings or live use off the air when connected to an RF front end. It is easy to tune around the display, change modes and bandwidth, and the audio quality is very good. Display choices are spectrum scope (panadapter), waterfall, and audio oscilloscope. The history of this program shows that it is well supported and enhanced. For example, when it was recently discovered that the signal level for weak signals was a bit too low to be displayed with certain hardware combinations, the program was quickly updated to version 3.3 in about two weeks with a capability to adjust the signal floor. Problem solved! The developers support site and forums are very helpful, including information about RF front ends, how to use prerecorded spectrum recording files, which Apple devices are supported, and which external hardware works with which Apple device. I use a Griffin iMic (and the Apple Camera Connection Kit USB adapter) with my iPad 2 and a Sonoma Wire Works Guitar Jack 2 (and the free GuitarTone app from iTunes for adjusting settings, including signal level) with my iPhone 4S. iSDR works beautifully with both these hardware setups connected to my Elecraft KX3 portable amateur radio transceiver. iSDR is fun, useful, and robust. Short wave radio listeners and amateur radio operators will find the program to be very helpful. 73 de WF4Z

Not multi-tasking compatible

You STILL cant put the app into the background and it keep working. Major drawback.

Excellent SDR App

This app is totally cool. I am looking for interesting and innovative ways to introduce my kids to computers and radio, and this app has massive appeal. It has beautiful visual display, integrates computers and radio, involves the iPad, shows how different transmission modes all share the same bandwidth, etc. I dont yet have an RF front-end, but the downloadable files are perfect for my current needs. Neat stuff and totally worth the price.

Great beginning!

This is a fantastic idea for an app, and I am glad its freeware! Some points for improvement: 1. The user interface needs to be more user friendly. For instance, trying to lock the frequency at a certain point almost always ends up affecting/moving the reception slider bar instead. 2. There should be a recording function. 3. The sound should play even when the app is minimized. 4. There ought to be an official front end that can be purchased separately for this app. It should be pre-built, tested for use with idevices, and should include an antenna. A separate antenna with a ferrite rod should be optional for good AM reception. Keep up the good work!
